Motorola held a press event in New York City on Wednesday. During the presentation, the handset maker unveiled?the latest in?its RAZR line. What's new? The Droid RAZR HD, the Droid RAZR MAXX, and the Droid RAZR M.
The Droid RAZR HD has a 4.7-inch display, which supposedly offers significantly better color saturation than competing devices such as the iPhone 4S. Motorola made it a point to tell us how long we'll be able to enjoy this lovely display by pointing out that the device should run for 24 hours on a single charge.
The Droid RAZR MAXX HD has?? other than a rather silly name???a powerful battery which can supposedly handle 21 hours of continuous talk time. (Woah!) It should run for 32 hours of normal use.
And the Droid RAZR M is a 4.3-inch device with practically no borders. It looks surprisingly good, albeit as if it might be difficult to handle. (Most of us need a bit of a border to comfortably hold and use a smartphone.)
The new devices have some solid guts. 1.5GHz dual-core processors, 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel cameras in the rear, NFC support, and microSD slots for storage.?Gorilla Glass displays and Kevlar coatings will keep those parts nice and safe, of course.
All three of the devices will run on Verizon's speedy 4G LTE network.?The Droid RAZR M will be available on Sept. 13. It will be priced at $100 (after rebates and with a new two-year agreement, of course).?The Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR MAXX will be available before the holidays. No pricing details were provided for those two devices just yet.
